About the exhibition

We selected our favorite evocative works and put them into a virtual gallery.    

There was so much amazing work to choose from, but we believe that these works in particular speak for themselves.

Lastly, we also think these works exhibited together speak to this moment in America and how art represents what we give our attention to.

Había tantas obras para elegir, pero creemos que estas obras en particular hablan por sí mismas.

Por último, también creemos que estas obras expuestas juntas hablan de este momento en Estados Unidos y de cómo el arte representa aquello a lo que prestamos atención.

About the selectors

Canela Art Gallery:

We are a group of artists committed to making a for-us-by-us gallery that prioritizes QDTBIPOC folx in areas of representation and support with actual resources.

We come together to challenge and encourage ourselves to be vulnerable with each other to address issues (including machismo culture, colorism bias, environmentalism) that actually affect us all, some more than others.

Art is a conversation, and not just an opportunity, but something we can make more accessible as with our collective power we change how we experience and process reality.

We invite everyone invested in our vision for a better and inclusive art world to think about what we provide in a gesture of abundance, and dream with us, and make space for it with us.

Somos un grupo de artistas comprometidos en hacer una galería para nosotros por nosotras que prioriza artistas y temas de 'QDTBIPoC' en áreas de representación y apoyo con recursos reales.

Nos unimos para desafiarnos y alentarnos a ser vulnerables unos con otros para abordar problemas (incluida la cultura machista, el sesgo del colorismo, el ambientalista) que realmente nos afectan a todos, a unos más que a otros.

El Arte es una conversación y no solo una oportunidad, sino algo que podemos hacer más accesible ya que con nuestro poder colectivo cambiamos ala forma en que experimentamos y procesamos la realidad. Invitamos a todos los involucrados en nuestra visión de un undo del arte mejor e inclusivo a pensar en lo que brindamos en un gesto de abundancia, y soñar con nosotros y hacer espacio para ello con nosotros.
