Support NIAD artists as they build sustainable creative practices and a more inclusive art world for us all.

A photograph of a person walking down a fashion runway. The model is artist Nakiesha White, a black woman wearing a large pink paper flower on her head and a sleeveless black dress. She is pointing toward the ceiling with one hand and has her other hand on her hip. In the background, a crowd of people on either side of the catwalk applaud. The walls are painted silver and there are colorful paper lanterns installed on the ceiling.
A photograph of an artist sitting in a painting studio. The artist is a black woman with glasses and long dark hair pulled into a pony tail. She looks over her shoulder and smiles at the camera. She wears a black shirt splattered with paint, and holds a small paintbrush in her right hand. A large white canvas is propped on an easel before her. The canvas is filled with wiggling lines and floral designs, most drawn in pencil and some traced over with black paint.

I have been an artist at NIAD for 17 years. I have been growing and growing and growing into my practice everyday. Art making makes me feel powerful, and it makes me feel seen and heard. I am at home here.

Remembering a Friend: Honor and Memorial Gifts

Throughout our joyful forty plus years we’ve made many friends. Some come in and out of the NIAD community, while others build a lasting relationship. Rami Geller did the latter; he was a compassionate lover of art, community, and NIAD Art Center.
In grateful collaboration with Rami’s family, NIAD artists and facilitators created a fountain in our courtyard which offers beauty, respite, remembrance and inspiration.

Please contact Development Director Rebecca Teague to find out more about any of these opportunities.
